Gordon "Mac" and his wife Ernesteen "Ernie" McConnell founded the brand in 1949 after moving to Santa Barbara from New Jersey and opened the original location December 1950 at the corner of State and Mission streets in Santa Barbara.

In 1986, the original location moved to the current location at 201 West Mission Street.

Our location is an independently operated shop and we currently serve a wider variety of classic McConnell's Fine Ice Creams flavors alongside in-house made fresh frozen yogurt and custom pies.
